Captain Cody Maddox's Fishing Reports

11/12/08 Fishing Report

Fishing has been outstanding!!! I have been concentrating on Easy Matagorda bay and let me tell ya, ITS ON. Corkies and topwaters have been the ticket for catching bigger trout. Most fish have been in the 18 to 25 in range and at least one over 27 or bigger on every trip . Paddle tails have also been deadly on the smaller fish rigged with 8th oz jig.  The topwater bite has been great in the early morning and late evening on some nice trout. I am starting to see some big fish moving in on the mud shell mix and its exciting. I have seen some heavy weights showing up in some of my big fish spots, like for example a 23 inch fish weighs over 5 lbs. Its just a matter of time and cooler weather before the true trophy's show up.

Redfish are starting to show there faces in less than knee deep water tailing in little schools. Last week we had some really cool sight casting on some shallow water bruisers tailing and I expect it will get better. I can't wait.

I am Really excited about the coming months and we will have some huge trout come to hand. Trophy trout and redfish are where its at right now. Don't let this one pass you by, let Capt. Cody teach you how to catch a big one.
