Fall has started
off with a
bang!!!! We have
been catching
limits to near
limits of trout
to 29 inches in
the Matagorda
Bay complex with
a few redfish
mixed in.
Corky's have
been the ticket
for us wading
the shorelines
in knee to waist
deep water over
grass pockets.
The topwater
bite for me has
been fair to say
the least, but I
can still catch
a few. Big trout
have started to
show up and we
are catching
them on a
regular basis.
The fall east
winds and
equinox have
made the tides
really high and
the fish are all
over the
shorelines.
I have been
since the tides
went out and it
was a little
tougher to get
the limits but
we are still
gettin 'em with
a little work. I
expect more high
tides in the
coming weeks and
the fish will
pull back up on
the flats. With
every front that
approaches the
fishing will get
better. I have
some openings
left for October
and I expect
some huge trout
to come to hand
in the next few
months. Don't
miss out on the
action!!!!
Forgot my camera
on a few trips
but here are a
few pics.
I want to send
out our thoughts
and prayers to
the Hurricane
Ike victims and
hope for speedy
recovery.
