Fishing Report |

First of all before I
give the latest report
from Galveston Bay I
would like to thank
Cabelas in Buda Texas
for having me there for
thier spring time
outdoors show. It was
good meeting all the
people who came through
from Buda, Austin, and
the surrounding areas. I
had a great time and
look forward to doing it
again real soon. For all
your outdoor needs
please see the good
folks at Cabelas, they
have everything you need
to make your next
outdoor adventure even
better. Thanks Jim and
Lloyd for everthing.
Keep up the good work
guys.
Now on to the fishing
Well the last few days
have been bumpy but we
are still finding some
good fish located in the
coves along the south
shoreline of West Bay.
The coves have been good
hiding places right now
with all the strong
winds we have
been getting pounded
with as of late. Keying
in on mullet over soft
mud in these coves have
been the ticket to some
nice stringers of Trout
and Reds. With a few
days of sun some of the
fish are comming in less
than two feet
of water. On the colder
days we are finding fish
in the coves near the
deeper guts that run
through them. Soft
plastic Bass Assassins
in black/chartreuse
tails, plum/chartreuse
tail, and Redshad have
been good
producers on both Trout
and Reds. Corky Fatboys
and Corky Devils in
Redshad and in pink have
been good producers too.
As of last week we
started getting a little
more topwater action.
This will only improve
as
we approach spring and
water temps start to
rise. I am looking very
forward to our spring
time topwater action as
this time of year can be
awesome for folks
looking for some BIG
blowups and plenty of
them. If you
have never waded for
Trout with topwaters you
are definatly missing
out. This is an awesome
adrenalin rush at its
best.
Book a trip today and
come get in on some
great spring time
action! Book any
trip before February
28th for the spring and
I will honor my winter
time rates for the
spring.
See ya'll on the water

West Galveston Bay Report |
|
|
|
|
| |
Well this
week the fishing was
pretty good under some
very nice weather
conditions. Atleast up
until yesterday when the
front pushed through.
Most of the week we
concentrated our efforts
working coves along the
south shoreline in West
Bay. Wading soft mud in
water from 2' to 4'
throwing anything from
Bass Assassins to
topwaters has produced.
With the warming trend
late in the week we
starting finding some
more aggressive Trout
and Reds willing to bust
a topwater worked very
slow. The coves have
been steady producing
Trout on plastics and
several nice Flounder
per outing. When
the conditions have been
right, we have found
several Trout in the mid
20's to 28". Upper West
Bay is still producing
Trout drifting the mud
streaks in the middle of
the bay near North Deer,
Confederate, and Meacoms.
Though the bite in my
opinion hasn't been on
fire yet as it was this
time last year.
For the month of Feb I
will be offering up some
really hot winter time
wading specials. Give me
a call and mention you
saw this on my web site
for a great winter time
trip.

1/3/09 Fishing Report |

Fishing
here on Galveston Bay
remains very good. We
are catching some good
Trout wade fishing and
fishing from the the
boat. Drift fishing
dirty/ streaky water in
upper West Bay has been
producing some nice
stringers of Trout
bouncing soft plastic
baits near the bottom on
a slow retreive over
shell / mud. Bass
Assassins in plum,
black, redshad, and
limetreuse have
been the best producers
for me of late.
While wade fishing we
have been keying in on
Mullet and areas of soft
mud near deeper guts.
Soft plastic baits have
been working well along
with Corkys and Corky
Devils. Topwaters have
been producing a few
fish in the late
afternoons during warmer
days between fronts.
Last week we have had
some very nice Flounder
come out of the coves in
West Bay. We hit several
near the 20" mark.
Come see us at the
Houston Boat Show Jan
2nd through the 11th at
Reliant Park. Just look
for the Saltwater
Assault booth.
