Water temp: Mid 70's
Tides: 1' above normal
Bays: Calm
Clarity: Green with 2' visibility

Report:

Started off in a cove early this morning looking for a big fish on top but no luck today. This morning with no wind and no ripples I had a hard time getting them to go for the surface baits. I did down size to a Super Spook jr (bone) and we ended up sratching out 7 Trout to 19". Moved over to a mid bay reef where we found some nice Trout to 20" in 3 to 5' of water.  Keyed in on slicks and jumping Mullet. Trout were caught on Plum Assassins and bone colored Devil Eyes. 3rd stop was a reef over in Chocolate where the action continued, I hooked up with 4 or 5 Trout right away. The water looked good just about everywhere we went today, plenty of bait everywhere. Off the water at 2pm with 2 limits.

Bays: Rough
Clarity: 6"
Water temp: 76
Tides: 1 1/2' above normal

Report:
The last couple of days the wind has really put a hurt on the numbers of Trout we have been catching. Yesterday we had 7 or 8 and then again today we had 7 or 8 Trout. Today I couldn't even hit any mid bay reefs because of the chop and clarity. Decided to work over one of the coves that was somewhat protected from the northeasterly winds. The cove had plenty ofbait activity and a few flocks of gulls working over schoolie Trout around the small drains that entered into the cove. My dad decided to hit the birds and work over the smaller Trout trying to scratch out some keepersin which he did. I think he ended up with 4 around 16". I decided to head for the surface bait out towards the middle which paid off for me with a solid 25" Trout that was released. I had 2 more pretty good blowups on the bone Super Spook but did not connect on them.
on the way back to 2004 we hit one of the reefs in Chocolate that coughed up two Trout to 18" and that was it. The water in Chocolate out by the ICW is definitely fishable if this wind would ever lay. Everything else is
pretty nasty. We did cut one wade down by New Bayou, found several smoke trails near the grass from Flounder. I had 2 on that pulled off and caught one dink. The water along the shoreline of New Bayou looks great. Definitely a good spot to go looking for some flat fish.

  Quick report

Water look good under stiff north wind this morning. We managed to scratch out a few over shell around slicks then picked up another handful wading one of the coves along the south shoreline. The coves are really starting to heat up for me. Today I picked up this 24 or 25" Trout (released) and lost another one just like here. Black She Dog accounted for all of my blowups under the overcast skies.

Water temp: 77
Tides: 1 1/2' to 2' above normal
Moon: Full

Report:
Met up with new Fishwestend member JT this morning at Sea Isle for a quick morning wade. We started off on 1 shell pad in West Bay where it was a little rough but we had slicks everywhere. It didn't take long to get the
first Trout strung as I had one on the third cast from the boat. For the next hour I had some pretty steady action as I strung 8 Trout and lost 4 or 5 more on the grab. Trout this morning were all in the 20" range. Jt
Strung to Trout and missed several more on the grab. All Trout caught on plum Assassins over shell with plenty of slicks in the area. Fished this area for 2 hours or so then hit one of my favorite coves along the south
shoreline to check it out. We fish this cove for about 30 minutes before heading in. Didn't find anything in the cove worth reporting other than it won't be long . The coves are fishing to heat up!!!!!

10/12/08 Fishing Report

  Location: Chocolate Bay/ West Bay
Weather: Clear
Wind: 10 to 12 southeast
Bays: Choppy
Clarity: 12 to 18"
Tides: 1 1/2' above normal
Baits: Arties
Moon: Full

Report:
Put in at the 2004 in Chocolate at 6am and headed into West Bay. Went to my first spot thats has been on fire lately and been producing some solid Trout to 20'. The bite started off fast but slowed rather quickly. We
picked up 8or 9 Trout pretty quick and 1 Flounder. Moved back into Chocolate Bay next where we scratched out a handful of Trout over shell pads near the ICW. Most fish were caught on Plum Assassins over shell
keying in on slicks. The full moon had my bite in shut down mode for most of the day. It was a little tough. Ended the day with 13 or 14 fish.

10/9/08 Fishing Report

  Location: Lower West Bay
weather: Clear
Wind: 10 to 12 out of the northeast
Tides: Normal
Water temp: upper 70's
Water clarity: 1'
Bays: slightly choppy
Baits: Arties

Report:
Left Sea Isle at 630 and headed over to some of the sheels pads that have been producing the last few weeks for me. The bite was tougher than I really expected this morning. Did not see near the Trout slicks that I had
seen in previous days. We did scratch out a few Trout on the first reef to 21". Still no topwater action to report. Everything caught today on Assassins. Plum still the most effective bait right now. Moved over to
some of the reefs in Chocolate near the channel were we scratched out a few more Trout to 18". Water looked good in Chocolate as well. We ended the day with 18 Trout and 1 20" Flounder. All fish caught off of shell pads in 2 to 5' of water. Shell pads are holding plenty of bait right now but I just didn't see the slicks as I have the past few days.

For all you bird workers out there. There are birds starting to work pretty hard in Chocolate Bay and in lower West Bay. Been seeing a lot of bird action near Tire Reef all the way up to Alligator Point.

10/3/08 Fishing Report

Fishing in West Bay continues to be hot. Not seeing much topwater action but soft plastic Bass Assassins continue to produce solid Trout to 23" worked around shell pads in water from 2 to 5'. The last week or so we
have been keying in on bait and slicks on or near reefs. Plum Assassins have accounted for most of the fish but Chicken on a chain and Red Shad has been working well also.
