Captain Mike Lowe's Fishing Reports

1/14/08 East Matagorda Bay

Texas Roaches continue to produce.  The birds were still working in the open bay despite 30 mph winds.  Redfish were hanging below the trout still eating shrimp.  Sutton and Ken had 11 trout and 5 redfish.  Welcome home Sgt. Shupak!  Pictured below is Sgt. Sutton Shupak.

It was windy and hard to keep up with the schools.  After missing two trout on first casts fishing gulps under birds while drifting, the action slowed down, so we switched to Texas Roaches and successfully landed a mix of trout and redfish to make for a good afternoon.

Another day right before a front.  Went straight to a mid-bay reef and stayed about 300 yards off the reef where the mud and shell met and never left.  Fished until the front was on top of us.  Had 14 trout up to twenty-two inches on soft plastics.  Enjoyed having you aboard Frank!
